This is my first post in my “Weekly Leadership Reflections Journaling” where I reflect on books I’ve read, and leaders I’ve met. Link to the original post with Qs at the end.
Impostor Syndrom is a Myth
A colleague recently pointed me to a thought-provoking article that made me question my prior opinions on “impostor syndrome”. The article states that too often women’s feelings of uncertainty are magnified by the environment we live in. So a minor moment of anxiety and self-doubt is boosted by microaggressions, lack of role models (or representation), and our harsh inner critics until we start feeling like impostors! Talk about topsy-turvy perspectives. Just blew my mind.
The original article can be found here and is cited as the 20 Most Impactful Articles in Harvard Business Review. If you are a woman or person of color or manage someone in this category, then please give it a read.
